Special cell for development of people: Fin Min
Mumbai, Apr 25: Announcing that the Maharashtra government would make efforts to preserve and enrich Marathi language, state finance minister Jayant Patil has said a special cell would be formed to ensure that Marathi-speaking people get opportunities and not be confined only to the low-level work.
Replying to the last day motion in the state assembly yesterday, Mr Patil said 100 posts would be created for the Marathi language shorthand typists in tehsil and district courts. The Minister said the revenue divisional commissioners would also be asked to deliver their judgements in Marathi. Mr Patil also said Maharashtra's rating will also improve soon. Leader of the Opposition Ramdas Kadam, Gajanan Kirtikar and others participated in the discussion.
