Probe into jail clash in MP

Balaghat, MP, Apr 25 (UNI) A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the death of two inmates during a clash between two groups of inmates at a local jail and the administration recommended to the Madhya Pradesh government that the jailor be suspended, official sources said today.

District Collector Gulshan Bamra inspected the prison after last evening's incident and, prima facie, the jailor's alleged carelesseness came to light.

The clash -- in which lathis, bricks and rods were used -- was over a financial transaction. The deceased were identified as Shailesh and Sameer. Senior officials rushed to the jail and separated the groups with help from employees and other inmates. A clash took place earlier in the day as well.
