Pondy mulls separate water supply board
Puducherry,Apr 25(UNI)The Puducherry administration would consider the setting up of a seperate water supply board in the union territory seperating water suply from Public Works, Chief Minister N Rangasamy told the Assembly today.
Replying to a question Mr Rangasamy said steps were being taken to streamline the water supply system here with Rs 300 crore and the work would commence once the money was received.
He also said that all the 30-year-old-pipes need to be changed.
To another question, Health Minister E Valsaraj said the administration would consider imposing a ban on smoking here.
Replying to another question, Education Minister M O H F Shajahan said the administration had identified the place for the setting up of a nodal office of the Centre for Classical Tamil of the Central Institution of Indian Languages,in Puducherry.
