Over 3 kg heroin seized in Punjab
Hoshiarpur, Apr 25 (UNI) Two persons were arrested by sleuths of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) while they were ferrying 3.990 kg of heroin, worth crores of rupees in the international market, near Purhiran village today.
The DRI sleuths intercepted their car and on search of the vehicle they found the heroin, which was being ferried to Chandigarh.
The two occupants of the car identified as Raj Kumar of Amritsar and Surinder Pal Singh of Gurdaspur district were taken into custody and later arrested under the NDPS Act.
The drug had been smuggled from Pakistan through the Jammu sector and it was to be delivered to a Nigerian near the PGI at Chandigarh.
