'Off the record' talks are bad for the party: Munde

Mumbai, Apr 25 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Gopianth Munde today said 'off the record' talks when the party is going through a crisis' are bad for it and everybody should condemn the same.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Munde, who was in news since last Sunday after announcing his resignation from all the party posts and subsequently withdrawing it, said even state unit party president Nitin Gadkari had condemned 'off the record' talks.

When the crisis in the BJP was simmering and after Mr Munde and Mr Gadkari's return to Mumbai from Delhi, a section of the vernacular press here next day had carried a news item, in which they had stated that a 'powerful BJP leader' was damaging the image of late Pramod Mahajan and Mr Munde.

Referring to the statement that defamed late Mahajan, the BJP leader said, ''Mahajan was like a sun and speaking anything against him is like spitting on the sun.'' ''I am happy with my talks in New Delhi and even the Shiv Sena chief has given his blessings to the alliance and I expect party wokers should now start working for the alliance's victory.''
