Monks observe fast on Panchan Lama's b'day

Puducherry, Apr 25 (UNI) As many as 70 Tibetan monks today observed a fast on the Beach Road here on the occasion of the 19th birthday of Panchan Lama, who is under Chinese custody, seeking his immediate release.

The monks,members of the Tibetan Solidarity Committee at Mundgod, also observed the fast to press their demands, including the immediate despatch of an international fact-finding delegation to Tibet, allowing free press to cover entire Tibet and an ''end to brutal killings in the region'' among other things.
