Middle aged man, teenaged girl commit suicide in Punjab

Ludhiana, Apr 25 (UNI) A middle-aged man and a 16-year old girl today committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance in a hotel room here today.

According to police, shortly after checking into the hotel, the two consumed the poisonous substance. They were rushed to the CMC hospital by the hotel staff after they were seen lying in an unconscious state in their room.

However, they died in a hospital. As per the information avaliable in the hotel register, the two were identified as Surjit Singh and his daughter, Sunija, both residents of Tohana in Haryana.

The city police have contacted the Haryana police for further information. The police have taken the bodies into custody after the postmortem.
