Middle aged man, neice commit suicide in Punjab

Ludhiana, Apr 25 (UNI) A middle aged man and his 16-year old neice today committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance in a hotel room in the city here today.

According to police sources, shortly after checking into the hotel, the two consumed the poisonous substance. They were rushed to the CMC hospital by the hotel staff, after the girl raised an alarm.

The two died after admission to the hospital. As per the information avaliable in the hotel register, the two had identified themselves as Surjit Singh and his daughter, Sunija, both residents of Tohana in Haryana.

However investigations by the police revealed that the girl was the neice of Surjit Singh. The two had eloped yesterday and a case in this connection was registered at the Tohana police station.
