five killed, six injured in road accident

Azamgarh, Apr 25 (UNI) Five people, including a woman, were killed and six critically injured in a head-on collision between a bus and jeep near Bankat Bazar area here today.

The incident occurred around 1500 hrs at Azamgarh-Gorakhpur highway, when a speeding jeep collided with a roadways bus coming from the opposite direction, police said.

Five people, including jeep driver and a woman, died on the spot, while the injured had been admitted to district hospital.

Bodies had been sent for postmortem. However, their identity was yet to be ascertained.
