Field Development Plan of MA Field (Dhirubhai 26) approved

Mumbai, Apr 25 (UNI) The Management Committee (MC) constituted under the Production Sharing Contract consisting of contractors and government of Indian nominees has approved the Field Development Plan (FDP) of MA field (Dhirubhai-26) within the contract area of KG-DWN-98/3 (KG-D6) located in the deep waters of Krishna Godavari basin off the east coast of Andhra Pradesh.

The field was discovered by Reliance Industries Limited in 2006 and a development plan was submitted to Director General Hydrocarbons , Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and other MC Members for approval.

RIL in a release here said the development plan included production through a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) platform.

The field is estimated to produce a Peak Oil Production of 40,000 Barrels of oil per day and an estimated gas of 240-350 MMSCFD.

The production is likely to commence in second half of this year and this would be the first deep water production by any Indian company.

The MA oil field development plan was in addition to the development plan for gas fields D1-D3 within the same block.

RIL acquired this block, KG-DWN-98/3 under NELP-I. Niko (NECO) Ltd held 10 per cent participating interest in the block.
