Ewan McGregor in talks for 'Angels and Demons'

Washington, Apr 25 : Ewan McGregor is in talks to star in Columbia Pictures' "Da Vinci Code" prequel "Angels and Demons."

The actor is negotiating for the role of the powerful Vatican insider who assists Robert Langdon, to be played by Tom Hanks, who finds himself entangled with the Illuminati -- the most powerful underground organization in history -- and the Catholic Church.

Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer has nabbed the female lead opposite Tom Hanks, reports Variety.

She will be playing Vittoria Vetra, an Italian scientist who joins forces with Langdon.

Ron Howard is directing from a script penned by Akiva Goldsman.
