Day temperature in Bihar crosses 42 C
Patna, Apr 25 (UNI) The plains of Bihar continued to experience unbearable heat wave for almost a week now with today's maximum temperature soaring to more than 42.5 degree Celsius.
According to the local Met office, as there was no possibility of rain or thunder squell during the next 48 hours, temperature might rise further. The condition became unbearable as the humidity level in the air was hovering around only 20 per cent compared to about 70 to 80 per cent in several other parts of the country, the sources said.
As a result of the heat wave condition, majority of people were forced to remain indoors during the day. Most of the streets in Patna looked deserted in the noon with very few vehicles plying.
Reports of similar weather condition were also pouring in from other parts of Bihar including Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga and Aurangabad districts where the day's maximum temperature reportedly crossed the 43 degree Celsius today.
