Darbara Singh sentenced to life term

Jalandhar, Apr 25 (UNI) A local court today convicted and sentenced Darbara Singh to life term, for raping and killing an eight-year-old girl in 2004.

Additional District and Sessions Judge BK Mehta while pronouncing the judgement, sentenced Darbara Singh nick-named 'baby killer' to life imprisonment for raping and murdering an eight-year-old Diksha on April 18, 2004.

According to prosecution, the accused was convited on the statement of the witness Asha (6), who escaped from the custody of the accused.

The accused lured the two girls, Diksha and Asha, who were playing outside their house and then took them to a vacant plot and after raping Diksha killed her, however Asha managed to escape from his custody.

Earlier this year, on January 7, the accused was sentenced to death in another case also related to killing of a baby girl.
