CPI (M) walks out over welfare board issue

Chennai, Apr 25: The CPI(M), an ally of the DMK-led DPA Government in Tamil Nadu today staged a walk out from the Assembly demanding the state government to bring all the welfare boards for the unorganised sector back to the Labour Department from the Revenue Department.

During the Zero Hour, CPI(M) Floor Leader C Govindasamy urged the government to take steps to bring the welfare boards under the Labour Department.

''Since, the demands for grants for the Labour Department are being discussed, we are staging a walkout to highlight the issue,'' he said.
