CID arrests human trafficker, rescues 14-yr-old girl

Kolkata, Apr 25 (UNI) The West Bengal CID Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) has arrested a notorious trafficker and rescued a minor from near Gate No six at NSCBI airport.

CID officials said here today that one Sheikh Alamgir (22) of Batikamari village of Murshidabad district was nabbed from the airport and rescued a 14-year-old girl from him.

The AHTU unit also informed that the girl was trafficked by Alamgir from Domkal area in Murshidabad on pretext of marriage.

Alamgir had repeatedly raped the girl and forced her into prostitution, the officials informed adding that the girl was under treatment.

Alamgir was wanted in several cases of trafficking and rape, CID sleuths said.
