20 injured in Forward Bloc and Trinamool Cong clashes

Coochbehar, Apr 25 (UNI) Altogether 20 people were injured in clashes between the Forward Bloc and Trinamool Congress supporters at Chowdhuryhat village under Dinhata block in this district.

District Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar said among the injured, four had been admitted to local hospitals and nursing home.

The clashes occurred yesterday night over occupying a meeting place for coming the Panchayat polls.

Police so far arrested seven TMC activists for creating violence in public.

Police camps were set up to restore normalcy.

Mr Kumar said the situation was tense but under control.
