Pratibha Patil's homage to Mahatma Gandhi

Mexico City, Apr 19, 2008 : President Pratibha Devisingh Patil paid homage to the India's freedom icon, Mahatma Gandhi's monument in Mexico City. The atmosphere at Gandhi's monument came alive as local children sang Gandhi's favorite song 'RaghuPati Raghav Raja Ram' in front of the Indian President.

Mexican musicians in their traditional attire sang Hindi religious songs on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Patil said that Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy transcended national boundaries.
