Guns to keep population low in Shivpuri

Shivpuri, Apr 19, 2008: In a bid to encourage family planning at the micro level, authorities in India's central Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh state have initiated a unique method to encourage men to undergo vasectomy by offering them arms licenses as incentive.

The Shivpuri administration has taken the initiative to mobilize men to undergo vasectomy, a surgical procedure for sterilization.
