Two persons injured as tusker turns violent

Kottayam, Kerala, Apr 25: Two people were injured when a tusker ran amok during a festival at the Kuttikad Devi temple here, today.

Tension prevailed and the frightened devotees ran helter-skelter before the furious elephant was brought under control by administering tranquiliser. The pachyderm also destroyed a car.

The injured were admitted to the medical college hospital.

Only yesterday, three people were trampled to death by a tusker during the Koodalmanikyam temple festival at Thrissur.
