TRS bait to Cong candidate in AP bypoll

Hyderabad, Apr 24 (UNI) Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhara Rao today said the party was ready to give ticket to Mr P Vishnuvardhan Reddy, already nominated by the Congress to contest the bypoll from Khairatabad Assembly constituency to be held on May 29.

Talking to mediapersons here, the former Union Minister said it would not be possible to support Vishnuvardhan, the Congress candidate in Khairatabad constituency as announced by the party recently and fight the ruling party in another seat.

The Khairatabad seat fell vacant following the death of Vishnuvardhan's father and Congress leader P Janardhan Reddy.

'The TRS will give ticket to Vishnuvardhan. If he accepted, will the Congress support the senior Congress leader's son in the election,' he asked.

Stating that the party was ready to give 'B form' to Vishnuvardhan to contest the bypoll, the TRS chief said the party would support him, if he contested as an Independent candidate.
