'Toddy Movement' to intensify stir

Tiruchirapalli, Apr 24 (UNI) The 'Tamil Nadu Toddy Movement' has decided to launch a four phase agitation programme, demanding that the State Government either enforce total prohibition in the state or permit toddy tapping, movement convener S Nallasamy has said.

Addressing a press conference here last night, he ridiculed the government's stance ''allowing the sale of highly alcoholic IMFL, while hesitating to allow tapping of toddy, which was less harmful to the body.'' He said they would move the Madras High Court, seeking a direction to the state government in this regard.
