State assures to look into cheer leaders issue
Mumbai, Apr 24 (UNI) The Maharashtra government has assured to look into allegations of opposition members that cheer leaders and their dancing at the venue of T20 matches were 'vulgar' and against Indian culture.
Minister of state for home Siddhram Mhetre told the legislative council yesterday that the state would verify the tapes of the matches and take action accordingly.
The issue had been raised in the Upper House by Mr Nitin Gadkari (BJP), who minced no words in criticising the ongoing Indian Premier league matches.
He charged that players had already been sold for astronomical prices and now women were made to dance in skimpy clothes.
