Rattha Group to invest over Rs 1,750 cr in Chennai's IT SEZ

New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) Rattha Group today said it will set up an IT Special Economic Zone (SEZ) 'Estra IT SEZ' in Chennai with an investment of over Rs 1,750 crore.

Spread over four blocks and across 26 acres, Estra IT SEZ will create 4.5 million square feet of business space withemployment opportunities for over 50,000 professionals upon completion by 2012, a company statement said.

Block I will comprise of 11 lakh sq ft and will be ready for occupation by December 2009, it added.

The proposed SEZ will house restaurants, retail outlets and other recreation areas like gymnasium, multi-storied car parking to cater to over 15,000 cars, and 100-room service hotel.

The Rattha Group has interests in exports, infrastructure and hospitality and its assets stand at over Rs 2,500 crore.
