Poverty compels mother, daughter to commit suicide

Bokaro, Apr 24 (UNI) Unable to bear anymore poverty, a mother and her teenaged daughter consumed poison at Telo Mandal Tola under Nawadih police station in the district late last night.

Police today said the deceased, identified as Gayatri Devi(40) and her daughter Mangla Kumari (16), were facing extreme financial constraint for last few weeks leading to depression.

''Frustrated, they often quarrelled with each other'' police said.

The bodies were sent for postmortem.
