Pawar has no right to continue in office: CPI

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 24 (UNI) Union Food and Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar has no right to continue in office in the light of his statement that the Centre had no responsibility to provide rice to Kerala and it should cultivate paddy for its consumption, CPI State Secretary Veliyam Bhargavan said today.

Though Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had assured an all-party delegation, which met with in New Delhi recently, that the Centre would favourably consider their demand to reinstate the State's ration quota, Mr Pawar was adopting a stand violating the federal system by reiterating that the Centre would not reinstate the ration quota, he alleged in a statement here.

He termed the Centre's decision to reinstate the ration quota to Andhra Pradesh alone as ''double standards''.
