New Indian envoy arrives in Kathmandu
Kathmandu, Apr 24 (UNI) The newly appointed Indian Ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood arrived here today to assume his duty.
Mr Sood replaces Ambassador Shiv Shankar Mukherjee who left Nepal yesterday after completing his three-year tenure.
The new Indian envoy, a career diplomat, was India's Ambassador to Afghanistan before his posting in Nepal.
He was previously India's Permanent Representative to the UN Conference on Disarmament in Geneva as a disarmament expert. He had also worked as Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Washington.
