Idea Cellular Q4 net up 44.63% at Rs 278.2 cr

New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) Aditya Birla-promoted Idea Cellular Ltd today said its net profit has increased 44.63 per cent to Rs 278.2 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 192.34 crore during the same period a year ago.

The company's revenue has also witnessed a hike of 50.46 per cent to Rs 1,985.26 crore for Q4FY08 as against Rs 1,319.45 crore for the same quarter a year ago.

Idea's net profit for FY08 stood at Rs 1,044.39 crore against Rs 502.06 crore a year ago, an increase of 108.02 per cent.

The company's revenue also surged 53.56 per cent to Rs 6737.45 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008 from Rs 4387.33 crore for the same period a year ago.

The Group's net profit saw a hike of 43.83 per cent to Rs 276.69 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 192.37 crore for the same quarter a year ago.

The Group's revenue also increased 50.46 per cent to Rs 1,985.26 crore for Q4 FY08 as compared to Rs 1,319.45 crore for the same quarter last year.

The Group's net profit for FY08 stood at Rs 1,042.31 crore as compared to Rs 502.22 crore a year ago, rising 107.54 per cent.

Its revenue also surged to Rs 6,737.45 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008 from Rs 4,387.33 crore for FY07, a hike of 53.56 per cent.
