Former Haryana Governor Babu Parmanand passes away
Jammu, Apr 24 (UNI) Former Haryana Governor Babu Parmanand died of a prolonged illness here today.
He was 75.
The last rites will be held at Shastri Nagar Cremation Ground here at 1700 hrs, sources said.
Babu Parmanand was elected to the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in 1962 from the Ramgarh Constituency.
He worked in various capacities and held important positions in the state from Minister for Social Welfare and Transport during the G M Sadiq's regime in 1967 to Minister for Finance and Power in the Dr Farooq Abdullah's Ministry in 1982.
He assumed the charge as the Governor of Haryana on 19th June, 2000.
