Fire in Khaitan factory's godown in HP
Nahan, Apr 24 (UNI) A devastating fire broke out in the Khaitan factory's godown in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, destroying property worth around Rs five crore.
However, no loss of life was reported in the incident, police and fire brigade sources said today.
The fire in the Khaitan's Electricals godown in Poanta Sahib area of the district caught early yesterday and continued throughout the day before being extinguished in the evening by fire personnel, requisitioned from here.
The fire caused a preliminary loss of about Rs 5.5 crore as raw material for exhaust fans, CFL bulbs and table fans along with finished goods were gutted. This is the second fire incident in the same unit within a year.
The cause of the fire, however, not known yet but case had been registered and investigations were on, the sources said.
Company's proprietor M S Chaudhary dubbed the losses as huge as besides storing raw and finished goods, the company was manufacturing a few other goods in the godown.
