Entire Lok Sabha takes on Baalu on road safety
New Delhi, Apr 23 (UNI) Road Transport Minister T R Baalu faced embarrassment in the Lok Sabha today as members cutting across party lines criticised him for his reply on safety on national highways.
''There is enough safety on roads,'' Mr Baalu said during Question Hour.
But it was an embarrassing situation for him as members in unison shouted ''No, No''.
As Mr Baalu persisted with his reply, Speaker Somnath Chatterjee intervened to say that the Minister should get the sense of the House that the road safety measures were inadequate and, therefore, look into the matter.
