CPI(M), BJP heavyweights to visit Andaman
Port Blair, Apr 24 (UNI) BJP president Rajnath Singh and CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat will soon visit the remote areas of Andaman and Nicobar Island.
While Mr Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit the island from April 26 to 29, the CPI(M) leader will be present here on April 27 to hold public meetings and oversee their respective party's activities.
According to BJP sources, Mr Singh would be addressing public meetings here at, Rangat (Middle Andaman) and Diglipur (North Andaman) on April 26 and 27.
However both the parties have ruled out any possibilities of clashes during the visits of their senior leaders and public meetings, at the same time.
''Visit of the BJP's national president before the forthcoming elections will be very helpful for the local unit as it will chargeup all the party workers,'' Andaman BJP unit president Vishal Jolly told UNI here today.
The political scenario of the Union Territory would further heat-up with some senior Congress leaders coming here in the first week of May, to attend a state-level conference of Andaman and Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee.
