Budhia's coach killer arrives, whisked away for interrogation

Bhubaneswar, Apr 24 (UNI) Chagala, the contract killer allegedly involved in the murder of wonder kid Budhia's coach Biranchi Das, was taken to Assistant Commissioner Police (ACP) Office for interrogation after arriving here today.

Chagala, an associate of gangster Raja Acharaya, the prime suspect in the murder of Das on April 13 last here, was arrested by the Bhopal police while appearing for a live interview by a private TV channel on April 22.

A special team led by Assistant Commission of Police Suresh Mohapatra left for Bhopal immediately on receiving the detention order for Chagala to bring him back to Bhubaneswar.

He was produced before a local court at Bhopal yesterday and later brought on a transit remand by the Orissa police for further investigation into the sensational murder case.

Biranchi Das, also a state judo coach, was shot dead at close range by three motor cycle borne assailants on the evening of April 13 last in front of the Judo Association hall.

Though the assailants fled from the scene immediately after the crime, Biranchi's wife claimed that Raja Acharya had shot dead her husband.

The police had also definite information that Chagala had accompanied the assailants. Acharaya had been absconding since then and continued to elude the police force for the last 12 days.
