Budhia coach killer sent to five days police remand
Bhubaneswar, Apr 24 (UNI) Chagala, the contract killer allegedly involved in the murder of wonder kid Budhia's coach Biranchi Das, was today sent in a five-day police remand for further interrogation by Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) A K Sahoo.
An associate of gangster Raja Acharya, the prime suspect in the Biranchi Das murder of April 13, Chagala alias Akhaya Behera was brought here today from Bhopal by a special police team amid tight security.
The contract killer was arrested by the Bhopal police while giving a live interview to a private TV channel on April 22.
A special police team, which rushed to Bhopal, brought him on transit remand to Orissa.
After the police remand, the co-accused in the murder case was taken to an undisclosed location for further interrogation by the police.
On his arrival from Bhopal at the Biju Patnaik Airport, Chagala was immediately whisked away by the police and taken to Assistant Commissioner Police (ACP) Office at the Info City for interrogation by Police Commissioner Binaya Kumar Behera and other senior police officials.
Along with Chagala, the police also produced Tukuna, another associate of Gangster Raja Acharaya before the SDJM who granted five-day police remand to both of them. The local police ,however, prayed for seven-day remand.
