AIADMK councillor among six held on kidnap charge
Chennai, Apr 24 (UNI) Police arrested six people, including an AIADMK councillor, on charges of kidnapping at Thambaram area, near here today.
Police said Vasanthi (62) hired AIADMK councillor Sai Ganesh for kidnapping her business partner Chandra Sekaran (45) and his family to resolve a loan dispute.
Following a complaint from Chandra Sekaran's brother, a team of police rescued Chandra Sekaran and his family including his wife, daughter and son at Vasanthi's residence.
The police also arrested councillor's driver and two of his friends, who were involved in the crime and seized the vechile, which was used for kidnapping.
