5 arrested for robbery
Nashik, Apr 24 (UNI) Police have here arrested five people in connection with a robbery of Rs 11,65,000 last month.
According to police sources, five persons Santosh Jadhav (31) Santosh Naik (31), Irfan Shaikh (25), Santosh Kerkar (35), all residents of Kandivali, Mumbai and Deepak Patel (31), resident of Panchvati, Nashik were taken into custody by Sarkarwada police from Sangamner police yesterday.
The five accused had robbed Mr Manoj Patel, an employee of a courier agency here owned by one Ashish Patel, of Rs 11,65,000 when he had boarded a bus to Mumbai from Nashik on March 29.
The five allegedly took him in a vehicle under the pretext of being police personnel and forcibly made away with the cash and later threw him at Summerghat.
A case was already registered in the matter under sections 395, 342, 419, 120(B), 324, 506 of the Indian penal code (IPC) and Indian arms (Prevention) Act 3125 with Sarkarwada police here.
