3 Lankans held at airport

Chennai, Apr 24 (UNI) Airport authorities today arrested three Sri Lankan nationals on the charge of cheating the immigration officials at Anna International terminal here today.

Airport officials said Vasanthan Raja (35) and Achudhan Pillai (35), who came from Sri Lanka, one week back, had obtained boarding passes to Canada and Malaysia, respectively at the airport.

Seeing the duo's suspicious behaviour, the airport intelligence officials held them, when they tried to transfer their respective boarding passes.

Later, both were handed over to the aiport police for further investigation.

Meanwhile, airport immigration authorities caught Jeevanathan (26), who tried to board a Malaysian bound flight with a fake passport.

He was also handed over to the airport police for further investigation.
