10 killed in road accidents in TN
Chennai, Apr 24 (UNI) Ten people were killed and a college student was critically injured in separate road accidents in Tamil Nadu since last night.
Police said eight people, including four women, were killed when the van in which they were travelling collided with a lorry at Koothadupatti village in Dharmapuri district, today.
Reports received here said the victims, hailing from Tiruvannamalai district, were on their way to a temple when the mishap occurred.
In another incident, two college students were killed and another seriously injured, when the motorcycle they were riding was knocked down by a tourist bus near Mamallapuram in Kancheepuram district, last night.
Police said the mishap occurred when the trio, pursuing first year Computer Science engineering course at a college at Payyanur in that district, were on their way to Mamallapuram.
The victims were identified as Jegadeesan and Vimalesh Kumar.
