Undertrials resort to hunger strike over poor quality meal
Chittorgarh, Apr 23 (UNI) Several undertrials lodged in the District Jail here resorted to a hunger strike today, protesting against the ''sub standard meals'' allegedly being supplied to them.
According to reports, about 150 inmates had observed fast to highlight their grievances.
One of the undertrials also lodged a written compliant before the NDPS Court Judge during his hearing today.
SDO Rajendra Singh Rathore said that the inmates had resorted to a hunger strike but he had timely intervened and and directed the jail officials to look into the matter.
Mr Rathore also said that he himself visited the jail and assured the agitating inmates of proper food, following which the inmates later ended their fast.
