Biharsharif, Apr 23 (UNI) Train services were paralysed on the Bakhtiyarpur-Rajgir section under ECR's Danapur division as 14 bogies of the Shramjeevi Express derailed at Soh-Sarai halt, between Bakhtiyarpur and Dina stations in Nalanda district today.

Railway sources here said all passenger and express trains passing through the section had been suspended because of the accident. It would take at least 30 hours to clear the route, the sources informed.

Divisional Rail Manager(DRM) Bhagwan Das Garg and Divisional Commercial Manager Omprakash were camping at the spot, the sources said adding the derailed bogies were being lifted to repair the damaged tracks. Nearly 300 railway employees had been engaged in the repair work.

The sources said the district administration arranged for the passengers of the ill-fated train to reach Patna by road. In some cases the railways also refunded the tickets.

Meanwhile, engine driver Vijay Tikka told UNI here that the train derailed probably due to some fault in the tracks. Mr Tikka said he immediately applied the breaks and as the train was moving slowly, the bogies derailed and a major mishap was averted.
