Seven killed in Gujarat accident
Dahod, Gujarat, Apr 23 (UNI) Seven people, including six members of a family, died on the spot, while one woman sustained serious injuries when their autorickshaw was dashed head-on by a speeding truck near Jhalod town, about 35 km from here, late this evening.
According to police sources, the incident took place this evening around 2100 hrs, when the family members were shifting a pregnant woman to the health centre at Jhalod town from the nearby Davadia village.
The deceased had been identified as Bhuriben Mohan Chauhan (pregnant woman), Magan Makna Chauhan, Navrat Magan Chauhan, Kiran Bhima Sisodia, Magan Laxman Parmar, Mariam Magan Parmar and Rafiq Abdulrazak Patel (driver of the auto-rickshaw).
The seriously injured Chetanben Parmar had been rushed to a civil hospital at Dahod where her condition was stated to be critical.
The driver of the speeding truck escaped from the scene after committing the crime, police sources added.
