Security committees' workshop in MP capital

Bhopal, Apr 23 (UNI) About 10,000 members of rural and town security committees, which aid Madhya Pradesh Police in fulfilling many responsibilities in districts, will gather here for their first state-level training workshop tomorrow.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Home Minister Himmat Kothari are scheduled to address the workshop at Lal Parade Ground, official sources said.

The inaugural session would begin at 1100 hrs. Information would be provided about sensitivity to women, children, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes besides laws relating to them. Detailed discussion would take place on crime research, observation, natural calamities and members' role in gathering information.

The participants would also be briefed on rural development issues and help to needy. The second session would begin at 1600 hrs.

The Public Relations Department would put up an exhibition.
