Proclaimed killer Delhi Police woman constable arrested
New Delhi, Apr 23 (UNI) Police have arrested a proclaimed offender for the murder of a woman constable of the Delhi police, whose body was recovered from a spot in Haryana.
Sunil Kumar (35), was arrested yesterday from Nazafgarh in West Delhi, following a detailed investigation by a team of the Delhi Police Crime Branch, after the highly decomposed body of Delhi Police woman constable Taruna was recovered from Rohtak, Haryana, in July last year.
Taruna's father had lodged a complaint with the police after she went missing from her home in Nazafgarh last year. He also named Anand, a resident of Nazafgarh whose marriage proposal for Taruna was rejected by the family, as a suspect in the case.
While Anand and another person Sher were arrested in July, Sunil had been absconding since the last 10 months.
Sunil, a resident of Rohtak in Haryana, was arrested from Gopal Nagar in Nazafgarh, when he had gone to meet some friends.
In his interrogation, Sunil, who was earlier involved in three criminal cases registered with police stations in Haryana, revealed that he had recieved an amount of Rs 25,000 from Anand for Taruna's murder.
