One arrested for murder of S Delhi trader

New Delhi, Apr 23 (UNI) Police have solved the April 21 murder of a trader at Lajpat Nagar in South Delhi with the arrest of a 30-year -old man, a close acquaintance of the deceased.

The 30-year- old Shiv Darshan Singh Rawat was arrested from Jal Vihar in connection with the murder of 50- year- old Narender Jaipalani, who was found lying in a pool of blood in a shop in Lajpat Nagar II on April 21 and with several injuries. The deceased son lodged a complaint that over Rs one lakh were missing from the shop, where his father had been working as a manager for last the 30 years.

On interrogation, the accused revealed that he was a close acquaintance of the deceased and had murdered him on April 21 after the deceased refused to give some money to him on interest.

When Jaipalani tried to take money from the cash drawer, Mr Rawat resisted on which the accused stabbed him with a knife.
