'No ban on children selling cold drinks, ice creams'

New Delhi, Apr 23 (UNI) The Government today denied that there was any specific notification prohibiting children selling cold drinks and ice-creams.

Replying to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of state for Labour and Employment Oscar Fernandes said the ban on employment pertained to children working in dhabas and roadside eateries.

A total of 8,056 cases were detected during inspections carried out by State/union territory governments in these two occupations, he said.
