Bangalore, Apr 22: The 'exodus' of leaders from Janata Dal(S) continued with its Senior Vice President and Former Minister D T Jayakumar deciding to quit the party and filing nomination as Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate from Chamundeshwari Assembly Constituency in Mysore District.

He was upset after JD(S) denied him the party ticket to contest from the constituency.

Strongly defending his action, Mr Jayakumar said he felt let down by JD(S) Supremo H D Deve Gowda who had rejected his claim.

Mr Jayakumar, a staunch supporter of Former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, was a strong votary against handing over power to BJP in November and lobbied hard for the continuation of the JD(S) leader as the Chief Minister in the coalition government.

After submitting his nomination papers, he said he was contesting the election to teach a lesson to Mr Gowda.
