Govt to modify laws regarding religious discrimination: Patil
Mumbai, Apr 23 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today assured members of the state Legislative Council that the government would take necessary steps to meud the loopholes in the existing laws, which are unable to curb religious discrimination.
He was replying to a calling attention notice by Fauzia Khan (NCP) about a housing society in Pune refusing to give a no objection certificate for sale of a flat to a Muslim.
She said such instances were happening elsewhere in the state too. She said the owner, Mrs Kapoor, who had sold her flat to one Hirani, was fighting with the housing society on the issue.
