Govt contemplating online registration in RTO: CM
Mumbai, Apr 23 (UNI) Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today informed the legislative council that government was contemplating online registration and outsourcing to streamline the functioning of the RTO department in the Metropolis.
Computerisation will ease the burden of the department, he said while replying to a question by Nitin Gadkari (BJP) and others.
Deshmukh said in Mumbai 500 to 550 new vehicles were registered everyday and 1500 new learning licences are issued.
Admitting that there are corrupt practices, he said steps, being taken to streamline the system, would help to curb the same.
