Fake IMFL liquor bottles seized, 7 held

Karur, Apr 23: Police have busted a gang involved in the distribution and sale of fake IMFL liquor in the district and arrested seven persons in this connection here.

Police said two persons A Chandrasekaran (35) and M Tamilan(30), riding on a motorcycle were stopped near T Vellalapatti, near here during routine inspection yesterday. A check on their vehicle led to the recovery of 48 fake IMFL bottles.

Based on their information, a police team raided a farmhouse near Muthuladampatti and unearthed hundreds of fake liquor bottles.

Police recovered 576 more bottles from a car parked inside the farmhouse.

More than 900 fake IMFL bottles were seized, police said adding that the car and the motorycle were impounded.
