DyCEC asks officials to seal liquor sources during elections
Gulbarga, Apr 23 (UNI) Deputy Chief Election Commissioner R Bhattacharya today expressed concern over increasing free flow of liquor in the build up to the Karnataka Assembly elections next month.
Speaking at a meeting of top officials in Gulbarga division, he gave strict instructions to the excise department to plug all entry points from Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.
Devoting a long time to discuss the matter, Mr Bhattacharya said use of liquor should be put down at any cost during elections, official sources said.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioners, DIGs, Superintendent of police and other top officials.
