Bypass road over Ouppanar to be laid

Puducherry, Apr 23 (UNI) The Puducherry Administration will lay a bypass road over Ouppanaar at an estimated cost of Rs 27 crore, Chief Minister N Rangasamy told the Legislative Assembly today.

Replying to a question, he said preparation of the plan, estimate and other works worth Rs 4 crore were completed and the contractor was yet to be paid due to paucity of funds.

He said the Central Government had accorded permission to obtain loan from HUDCO and the scheme would be implemented soon.

AIADMK member A Anbazhagan, who raised the question wondered how the GO in this regard was issued without allocating funds.

To another question, Welfare Minsiter M Kandasamy said the Administration would take steps to provide cycles under the free cycle scheme to all students at the time of reopening of the school this year.
